Business + Performance Psychology
I am a clinical psychologist working at the intersection of leadership, performance, and psychological precision, supporting individuals and organisations operating under consequence, complexity, reward, and pressure.
Clinical Depth for High-Responsibility Individuals and Organisations
Since 2017, I have worked across both private and public sectors, developing clinical and performance expertise within complex, high-stakes environments.

My experience includes private practice, hospital settings, university counselling services, probation and parole services, Brain Injury Units, Veteran Affairs, and national and international elite sport. I have worked with professional athletes, public figures, CEO's of national and international companies, and professional musicians operating within demanding performance systems with irreversible decisions.

Across these roles, I have led multidisciplinary teams and held Senior Psychologist positions, strengthening my capacity to work at the intersection of leadership, risk, and accountability.

Additionally, I currently serve as the Queensland Clinical Psychologist Lead for the Hemisphere Group which is a specialist organisation providing integrated medical, wellness, risk and safety services to renowned touring artists, live events, and high-performance performers across Australia and New Zealand, where I contribute clinical leadership and psychological support tailored to the unique demands of creative and performance environments.

My background outside of business, spans elite sport and international performance environments. Before establishing my psychology practice, I competed as a semi-professional athlete both nationally and internationally, an experience that shaped my understanding of pressure, identity, and sustained performance.

This breadth of exposure from institutional systems to elite performance informs the way I approach business and organisational psychology: with precision, discretion, psychological depth and "the show must go on" mentality.

Business, Performance, Finance & Organisational Consultancy
For over five years, I have applied psychological principles within business, performance, finance, and organisational contexts.

Since 2017, I have collaborated with entrepreneurs, CEOs, angel investors, high-risk stock and finance traders, fitness entrepreneurs, and professionals operating within start-ups through to eight-figure revenue businesses.

My approach is relational and psychologically rigorous, focused on how people function under pressure — emotionally, interpersonally, and internally, rather than on surface-level symptom management.

My consultancy work includes:

Strategic & Growth Psychology
Developing and executing tailored business strategies aligned with leadership values
Identifying market positioning opportunities and strengthening brand identity
Designing performance optimisation systems to improve decision-making and consistency

Organisational & Team Performance
Conducting team assessments to identify relational strengths, friction points, and structural inefficiencies
Improving communication architecture and workplace mechanics
Enhancing leadership containment during periods of growth or instability

Finance & Trading Psychology
Analysing behavioural patterns within financial trading
Strengthening consistency under volatility
Addressing cognitive distortion, impulsivity, and performance collapse under risk

Operational Optimisation
Refining workflow structures to reduce inefficiency
Aligning internal culture with long-term strategic direction
Improving client retention and sustainable growth mechanics

The work is not purely strategic, it is psychological with long term sustainability.
Ambition, avoidance, control, identity, risk tolerance, and self-pressure are often the true drivers beneath business outcomes.

Performance Under Pressure
I work with elite athletes, professional musicians, and high-visibility performers operating within environments where performance is expected regardless of circumstance. Across sport, stage, and leadership, the psychological architecture is similar: identity under scrutiny, decision-making under consequence, and sustaining internal stability when the external demand does not pause.
This “show must go on” psychology strengthens endurance, clarity, and composure without sacrificing depth or relational integrity.

What have you got to lose by going all-in on yourself?
Disclaimer
Your business and performance is public. However, most importantly, our work together is discrete and private. My work focuses on containment, continuity of self, and psychological stability under extreme exposure. I understand that decisions matter, consequences are irreversible, identity is tied to outcome, and vulnerability is often structurally unsafe.

Academic Leadership & Teaching Excellence
Alongside clinical practice, I have worked in academia as a lecturer, tutor, and researcher at both Griffith University and Bond University.

At Griffith University, I was awarded five consecutive teaching awards, placing my teaching evaluations within the top 10% of academic staff performance outcomes.

This academic foundation ensures that my work remains evidence-informed, intellectually rigorous, and grounded in contemporary psychological research while remaining deeply practical and true to my own ethos.
From Private Practice to Enterprise
I established my first private practice, Bird on the Wing, in 2019 as a part-time venture. In 2023, I transitioned fully into private practice and launched Jackson Hill Psychology, creating space for both clinical depth and entrepreneurial expansion.

Since inception, my practices have grown profitably and sustainably, increasing revenue while maintaining a deliberately selective, relationship-based model of care.

Alongside psychology, I have founded and operated profitable ventures across retail and cosmetic sectors, applying psychological principles directly within business mechanics, brand identity, and growth strategy.

This lived business experience allows me to work not as an external consultant observing risk, but as someone who understands capital allocation, scaling pressure, staffing dynamics, and operational complexity from inside the system.
Cosmetic & Identity-Focused Psychology
I also work closely with cosmetic surgeons across Australia, supporting patients in psychological assessment and preparation for aesthetic procedures — with particular experience in rhinoplasty and facial surgery.

Cosmetic decision-making often intersects with identity, self-perception, and long-standing relational narratives. My role is to ensure psychological readiness, stability, and informed consent within high-impact medical environments.

This work has positioned me as a trusted referral source within surgical communities operating at the highest professional standards.
