Holistic Psychology Gold Coast

Depth-focused, whole-person psychology in Miami, Gold Coast. Working with character, relationships, and what lives beneath the surface of the presenting difficulty. In-person and telehealth available.

What whole-person psychology means here

Not just the symptom. The whole person who is carrying it.

People who search for holistic psychology are often looking for something specific. Not a symptom checklist. Not a technique applied to a problem. Something that addresses them as a whole person: the patterns that have formed over time, the relational world they move in, the parts of their experience that have not been named yet.

That is the kind of psychology Jackson practises. The work is relational and depth-focused, meaning it is interested in what is underneath the presenting difficulty, not just the difficulty itself. Character, relationship, identity, and the emotional life that has been quietly running in the background: these are the materials this work takes seriously.

This is not a wellness approach. There are no prescribed techniques, no session-by-session programs, no mindfulness scripts. The work is relational: what happens between Jackson and the person in the room is the primary vehicle for change. The relationship is where the shift takes place. What relational therapy is →

Approach and modalities

Depth before technique.

Jackson works from a relational psychodynamic framework, with particular training in Transference-Focused Psychotherapy (TFP). The work is structured but not prescriptive. It attends to what is communicated beneath the words, what is being enacted rather than spoken, and what the therapeutic relationship itself reveals about the patterns the patient carries.

Primary frameworks
  • Relational Psychodynamic Psychotherapy - Depth-oriented work that treats the therapeutic relationship as the primary vehicle for change.
  • Transference-Focused Psychotherapy (TFP) - Structured psychodynamic therapy developed from object relations theory. Works directly with what happens between therapist and patient in real time.
  • Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) - Addresses the emotional and physiological experience of what has been avoided or defended against.

This work tends to suit people for whom shorter-term or skills-focused approaches have not reached what is underneath. People who have insight into their patterns without being able to move them. People who sense that the difficulty lives in character or relationship, not just in behaviour. Individual therapy at Jackson Hill Psychology →

Frequently asked

Holistic psychology treats the whole person, not just the presenting symptom. That means working with character, relational patterns, emotional life, and the underlying architecture of how someone moves through the world, rather than targeting a specific behaviour or thought pattern in isolation.

Jackson works from a relational psychodynamic and TFP framework. The work is whole-person in the sense that it addresses the full complexity of a person's inner and relational life. It is not integrative in the sense of combining unrelated modalities. The coherence of the framework is part of what makes it effective.

Some people come for a few months of focused work. Others build a longer relationship with therapy. Jackson is clear with you about what makes sense after the first session. Nothing is predetermined before you have spoken.
